  • Free July 4th eCards – Roz Remembers What Freedom Really Means

July 4th / Independence Day carries such a heavy message of celebration — especially in today’s world.  I believe for those of us (including myself) who took our independence and freedom for granted… 911 / September 11, 2001 was a huge wake-up call.

Before I came to the web all those years ago… I never really understood, or maybe understood is an understated word… I just never considered or took notice of what the Patriotic Holidays and Events really stood for – REALLY STOOD FOR!

That all changed when I researched my very first Patriotic website:  Memorial Day in CyberSpace.

I met and communicated with those who served and also visited tribute pages of POWs/MIAs and those who paid the ultimate price.  It was a gut wrenching experience, but it brought it all home to me — forever.

As I researched I visited website after website.  These were real people.  They were someone’s loved ones… children, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, etc. etc.  I never looked at a Patriotic Holiday quite the same way after that.  I realized just how real it was and how those who fought were real people even though they were not my blood relatives.  They are my relatives by country!

Then came 911… Another rude awakening – the worst ever!

I was personally trapped in Manhattan that day.  I had to walk miles to get out of the city as the entire borough and all surrounding areas were locked down.  Buses passed us by, we had no way out and had no real idea of what was going on, except it was VERY BAD and we needed to GET HOME QUICKLY.  But there was no way!

Strangers were helping strangers, I remember walking and walking and walking some more — in those days I was not used to walking as I am today!

I remember wondering if I was going to die walking, I remember wondering where the police were, why was the Mayor not doing anything to help, why did we not know what was going on!  Little did I know… they were all down at the World Trade Center!

It was like a movie, but this time I was in it!  I wondered how it was going to end!  I had nothing to compare this horror with!  I was petrified I was going to die… walking with all these strangers… no one would know where any of us was!

THEN… when I finally did get home… I put the TV on and saw the Twin Towers fall over and over and over and over again – a picture I will never forget, it all came home to me once and for all.

All those looking for loved ones, all those who were lost, and then the police, ems workers, firefighters, etc. who risk their lives everyday for us… who run into burning buildings while others run out.  It can’t get much more real than that.  My heart breaks for those who are lost and worse yet for those left behind to pick up the pieces.

Why am I going on and on about this when the title of this entry is Free July 4th eCards, because July 4th / Independence Day is what this is all about.  We live in a country where we can do what we want/when we want… as long as we do not hurt anyone and we do not break the law.  That gives us a lot of freedom.  We have freedom of speech, freedom to worship, freedom to start business, etc.

I want to do my part to help people celebrate.  Therefore, Say It With eCards is providing a way for Non Say It With eCards Judaic Greetings Club members to send specially designed Judaic Themed Independence Day eCards / Judaic Themed July 4th eCards.

Ok, no more chatter.  Here are the links:

This is my way of giving back and offering those not already Say It With eCards members a chance to try out the service while paying tribute to a country that offers us all so much!

My heart breaks for our boys and girls and their families still separated by war!

Needless to say for those who are hurt and for those who paid the ultimate price so that I can sit here and do this!

On Memorial Day weekend I attended two ceremonies here in my Community.  I was saddened by the small attendance.  One received more because they offered lunch.

For sure, I was so glad that I attended and I will continue to attend as long as I can — to honor those who fought and are still fighting.

The Free July 4th eCards can be found here, they are sprinkled in with the member cards.  The Free ones are clearly marked.

  • Belated Judaic Father’s Day eCards – It Is NOT Too Late To Send

Father’s Day 2008 — Gone, But Not Forgotten!

Father’s Day is such a sad time for those of us who no longer have our Dads with us.  The very last time I saw my father alive was on Father’s Day 1989.  While sometimes I can’t remember what I had for lunch, this memory is vividly etched in my mind.

I guess, missing him so much — on this day especially — prompted me to do all I could to add more designs and categories to the already jammed packed Father’s Day section of the Say It With eCard Judaic Greetings website.  The site now has 12 Father’s Day eCards categories.

The last, but not least — for this year at least — is Belated Judaic Father’s Day eCards.

Everyone seems to be out and about on Spring and Summer Weekends.  They just forget to send their cards in a timely manner and then think:  “Well, I forgot, I’ll do it next year, It is just too late for this year!” — NOT!

I designed a brand new category just for the late senders.  Check it out:

For your sending convenience… Below is the link to the complete list of Judaic Father’s Day eCards.  Believe me… Your Dad, Father-in-Law, Uncle, Friend, Husband/Significant Other, etc. will be happy to receive one no matter what day you send it!  We all have the need to be remembered!  Don’t deprive them of being remembered!

PLEASE REMEMBER:  “We are NOT promised a next year, or even a next minute!”  SEND YOUR FATHER’S DAY ECARDS NOW!!!  (My own father died — on July 1, 1989 — on the way home from a Bermuda vacation – on the ship!)

    Sunday, June 15, 2008 – Father’s Day

Dear Say It With eCards Members:

As always… I hope you and yours are enjoying the weekend.

It is pouring cats and dogs here in NYC with loads of thunder,
phenomenal bolts of lightening — beautiful, but quite scary if
one is outside!  I’m not, but as I was admiring, I decided it
might be safer away from the window with the drapes drawn!<smile>
I was tempo6ted to try and get a digital shot, but opening the
window might not have been a good idea!

Today/Tomorrow, Sunday June 15, 2008 is Father’s Day.  It is so
hard to believe that half the year is almost over!  Where does
the time go!  In a little less than four months Rosh Hashanah
    will be here!

I suppose I should not admit this, but as a Jewish American Digital Designer/Artist, I do not read nor write Hebrew.  I did not come from a highly religious or even religious family.  Oddly enough, this is what makes what I am doing today that much more mystifying and exciting — to me.

My desire to change the way the online Jewish Community — and those having the need for tastefully designed Judaic eCards — communicate prompted me to do my best to research and learn what I can to incorporate and provide more Hebrew within the Say It With eCards Judaic Greetings website.

I will gladly admit, it has become more fun as I become even more familiar with the Hebrew Alphabet.  With each new achievement, it is like a shot in the arm to do more and better!

Today I uploaded a new selection of Hebrew Father’s Day eCards in time for Father’s Day.  The nice thing about the Internet is that most wait until the very last minute to send or even start to look for their special holiday eCards or eGreetings.

At Say It With eCards there are always enough Judaic eCards designs to select from and many take advantage of the feature to program in advance — thus not waiting until the last second when life’s joys or challenges might interrupt, thus making them forget that importnat occasion and bring disappointment to their beloved and cared for recipients.  Then again… Others still wait until almost the last second, “because THEY KNOW… THEY CAN!”

With Say It With eCards more than 4,000 Judaic Themed eCards there is always something for everyone and every occasion — even those sad occasions we hope we never have to send eCards or any kind of cards for – Judaic Sympathy / Condolence eCards.

My designs are prompted by life and life comes in all shapes, sizes and forms — the good, the bad, the joyful and the sad.

IMPORTANT PERSONAL NOTE FROM ROZ:  Father’s Day has a special place in my heart — one intertwined with joy and heartache.  The last time I saw my father alive was on Father’s Day 1989.  He passed away two weeks later on the way back from a cruise to Bermuda.  He died on the ship!

PLEASE HEAR ME… if you listen to nothing else I say… PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take the opportunity to keep in touch with your family while you can!  Nothing is promised to us in this life!  I know that all family life is not a bowl of cherries – mine surely was note – but do what YOU CAN so there will be NOT GUILT later on!  I am sure we all know what Jewish Guilt is like!  The only thing good about my father’s passing was that MY GUILT DIED WITH HIM!

Say It With eCards / aka Say It With eCards Judaic Greetings  offers more than 100 Judaic Father’s Day eCards in Eleven Categories/11 Categories.  Check out the entire selection here:

  • Shavuot eCards or Shavuos eCards – Find Them All at Say It With eCards

Subhead:  Shavuot / Shavuos eCards from Say It With eCards

Shavuot aka Shavuos is another one of those Jewish holidays with multiple spellings.  What’s a person to do when searching for just the right Shavuot eCards or Shavuos eCards!  Which is right, which is wrong!

Shavuot is not only known as the Feast of Weeks, it is that special time which celebrates and honors G-d’s Gift of the Torah to the Jewish People at Mount Sinai.  The Torah is the Guide which governs how all Jewish People live their lives the world over.

Say It With eCards is offering a special collection of Shavuot eCards designed in multiple varieties – Traditional/ English and Hebrew and Hebrew/English.

    SPECIAL NOTE FROM ROZ
eCards are getting a bad rap these days, but IF you are sending from a reputable website there is nothing to worry about.  That said…

Think of your eCards as missiles of love, caring, communication and remembrance.  Think of your eCards as communications which will show caring and remembrance to your recipient.  To me… It is “all about” the feelings the eCards generate, for both the sender and especially for the recipients.

Consider this… YOUR eCard may be the ONLY eCard your recipient receives!  How’s that for making an impact and brightening someone’s day!  We all need to feel remembered and cared for!

    Happy Sending!

    Warmly,
